Does cuticle oil make your nails grow?
So how does using cuticle oil assist with growth?
Using cuticle or nail oil increases circulation around the nails. In turn, that boosts growth for longer nails.
Not just that, cuticle oil will also help to protect your nails from daily trauma that can lead to damage so they’ll be stronger.
Finally it will also improve the health and overall appearance of your nails.
DIY cuticle oil to the rescue
The only downside was that the same applications of my beloved CND were making a serious dent in my wallet. As a budget-conscious bride-to-be, I decided to make my own. Let me tell you there are soooooo many recipes out there, it’s so hard to know where to start. But the great thing about DIY-ing your nail oil is that you can adjust the recipe to exactly your preferences (and nail goals.) Too much choice can sometimes be confusing, however. So with that in mind, I’ve narrowed down my all-time top 5 DIY cuticle oil recipes from around the web. I promise you, you’re bound to find the ‘forever one’ amongst these. They are all simple yet effective, you don’t need to buy a lot of different essential oils and expensive equipment. Best of all, they’re quick, so you’ll be on your way to better nails in just minutes. One thing you will need before we start is a set of amber glass bottles, so that the ingredients don’t degrade. We love these ones which were a steal on Amazon:

My top 5 recipes for DIY cuticle oil:- The one that’s a dupe for CND This formula containing jojoba, rice bran oil and sweet almond oil from DIY beauty expert Humblebee & Me is simple, easy and has the most similar ingredients to my original beloved CND Solar Oil. I also like how this blogger bought a dropper lid for the bottle, compared to the nail polish-style applicator that the CND comes with which can be a little unwieldy at times.
- The one that’s super moisturizing and smells incredible This next site has a ton of nail recipes but my particular favorite is the super moisturizing rose cuticle oil. I’m a sucker for anything with relaxing geranium (I particularly love a few drops of Egyptian Geranium Essential Oil in a bath), so its no surprise that this scented recipe is my go-to. I slather it on after I’ve had a gel manicure removed when my nails are in need of some deep moisturizing care.
- The one that prevents breakage This formula will strengthen weak nails naturally, thanks to the addition of castor oil (in our opinion, one of the most underrated at-home beauty products). You should bear in mind that this formula might be sticky, so you’ll probably want to either apply it just before bed and let it sink in overnight, or wash it off after 10 minutes.
