White Christmas
Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby star as army-veteran entertainers who team up with a duo of singing sisters.

Together, they hatch a plan to help their former Commander’s failing Vermont inn by putting on the mother of all holiday shows.

This was actually the second movie to feature the song White Christmas, (the world’s best-selling single), after Holiday Inn in 1942.

The Polar Express
This movie might be a victory of style over substance but you can’t help but feel festive at the sight of the classic, romantic Pullman train!

Whilst some viewers find the CGI animation a little gimmicky, or even disconcerting, we’d still love to be picked up by the Polar Express to sip some cocoa on Christmas Eve!

Elf
Although it gets a little schmaltzy as the end, Will Ferrell is perfect as Buddy, who seems to fit in at neither the North Pole nor in the human world.

Fun fact: the store display that buddy and the fake Santa destroy in their Gimbels fight had taken weeks to set up, so it had to be torn apart by them in just one take as there wasn’t enough time to reset it if they got it wrong.

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Although some might prefer the animated version of this holiday tale, seeing the delightfully eccentric world of Whoville and its inhabitants come to life in a live-action movie is so much fun!

It’s a Wonderful Life
We’re usually crying before this movie’s even begun, so you know that makes it one of the best Christmas movies to watch!

Jimmy Stewart’s best-known role as George Bailey, sees him losing faith in everything and everyone around him before it’s festively and heartwarmingly restored in a powerful emotional climax.

If you need a fast injection of goodwill and holiday spirit, there’s nothing better than this movie!
