- The shower method done right
This is probably the trick you have tried before but it can have mixed results. If you’re going to try it, make sure that when you hang your clothes in the shower, you place them as physically close to the shower as you can while still keeping them dry. Make sure any doors and windows are closed also – you need maximum steam in the room. – It will take at least 15 minutes to get rid of wrinkles this way, so best to do it when you were planning on showering anyway. - Use a flat iron
This is a hack to be careful with due to the high heat but it’s also potentially the most effective if you’re trying to remove wrinkles without an iron. Your flat iron can do double duty as a travel iron to straighten out the most stubborn of wrinkles in no time at all. Just start with the heat setting at it’s lowest, run the flat iron plates lightly over your clothing, and turn the heat up until you get the desired result. - Use your hairdryer
Hang up your outfit and dampen the wrinkled area, or use a spray bottle to mist it lightly with water if you have one. Then take your hairdryer and blast any pesky wrinkles on low to medium heat. 1-2 minutes in each spot should have you all ready to go. - Put it in a dryer
If you have access to a dryer, place your wrinkled item of clothing inside with a dampened sock or another small item. The moisture generated will create steam, resulting in fresh, crease-free clothing. Use a high heat setting but don’t leave it on for too long. - Use an ice cube
If you don’t like the idea of putting wet clothes in with your date-night outfit, you can also put your clothing in the dryer with an ice cube for the same effect. Dry on high heat for no more than 15 mins. Make sure you hang up your clothing as soon as you finish. - Make a DIY wrinkle release spray
Mix a teaspoon of fabric softener with a cup of water in a spray bottle and shake to combine – et voila – your own homemade wrinkle release spray. Distilled water is best, but any will do in a pinch. To use, hold the fabric taut with one hand and mist lightly over the wrinkles before smoothing them out. It’s worth making a couple of these and stashing a smaller bottle in your purse or car for emergencies. You can also try adding hair conditioner or vinegar instead of the fabric softener for the same effect.
